Barbie” will be released in the summer of 2023 and we are already very curious about it – and we’re not alone. Because the film, directed by “Little Women” director Greta Gerwig and co-written with her husband Noah Baumbach (“Marriage Story”), will apparently be a brightly colored, crazy and self-deprecating play on the “Barbie” brand.
And we’re just going to assume that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling have great chemistry in the lead roles as Barbie and Ken – because that’s also supported by the fact that the two superstars are now expected to shoot their next film together directly.
As first reported in the well-informed newsletter Puck, but meanwhile additionally confirmed by the major US industry magazines, Ryan Gosling is negotiating to star alongside Margot Robbie in the new “Ocean’s Eleven” movie.
REMAKE OF A REMAKE OF AN ICONIC CLASSIC.
There is not much information about the new “Ocean’s” yet, but it will apparently be a remake or reboot of the series, without close ties to ” Ocean’s Eleven,” “Ocean’s Twelve” and “Ocean’s Thirteen” or the spin-off “Ocean’s 8.” Instead, the focus is back on the original “Ocean’s Elven” a.k.a. “Frankie and his Spießgesell” from 1960. Because the plot of the new “Ocean’s 11” is also to be set in the 1960s – and in Europe.
If the signing of Ryan Gosling, which is not yet certain but very likely, is any indication, then the latest installment will also remain true to a tradition of the “Ocean’s” series: the leading roles will be played by some of the biggest and best-known stars in Hollywood. We’re already curious to see who else will do the honors alongside Robbie and Gosling.
“OCEAN’S ELEVEN”: IN THEATERS IN 2024?
The “Ocean’s Eleven” reboot is being directed by Jay Roach, who already directed Robbie in “Bombshell”. The screenplay is by newcomer Carrie Solomon. Filming is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2023, but a full cast and a finished script are needed before Studio Warner will give the green light. If everything goes as planned, “Ocean’s Eleven” could hit theaters in 2024.
However, the start date for “Barbie,” which is also being produced by Warner, has already been set and will be released in German theaters on July 20, 2023.
