Britney Spears is considering taking action against her ex Kevin Federline. He shared an audio recording on Instagram in which the singer angrily lashes out at her sons.
In the audio clip, Spears can be heard addressing her sons sternly and demanding respect, among other things. Federline announced that he had shared the recording with his sons, but has since taken the message offline. The recording was reportedly made about four years ago, when the boys were 11 and 12 years old.
Spears’ ex “can’t sit back” while his sons are “accused of something after everything they’ve been through,” he wrote on Instagram. By this, Federline was referring to a post by Spears in which she expressed her dissatisfaction with not seeing enough of her sons. That message has since been deleted as well.
By sharing the audio recording, Federline “violated the privacy and dignity of the mother of his children,” says Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart. He also allegedly “undermined” his sons. The lawyer calls the sharing of the recording “cruel” and argues that Federline violated the law in doing so.
“We request that Mr. Federline act with some decency and stop discussing private matters publicly, which does not benefit anyone,” Rosengart says. The lawyer goes on to let it be known that he is working with Instagram to look at ways to ensure that Federline abides by the social medium’s rules from now on.
