Luke Knox, Dawson’s younger brother, dies: NFL mourning and cause still a mystery

Luke Knox died at the age of 22 on Wednesday night, August 17, and the news came out on Thursday. Dawson’s younger brother was touched by this tragic event that was quite sudden, according to sources close to the player.

Sean McDermott, the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, the team where the older brother plays, sent a message of support to him and the entire family: “We are there with him and his family. It’s just tragic news that I woke up to this morning. We love and support him and it’s unfortunate.”

Regarding the cause of death, it was not yet clarified. The Associated Press reported: “Luke Knox died Wednesday night, school officials said. The cause was not disclosed, although the university said police do not suspect a crime.”

Luke was following in the footsteps of his brother Dawson

The son of David and Rachel Kno, his full name was Luke Forrest Knox. Dawson’s brother had made his switch to the Panthers after defending Ole Miss colors for four years.

“A business major, he earned an Athletic Director’s Honor Roll distinction in 2020 and played linebacker before switching to tight end in 2021,” according to Bleacher Report.
