Teen Mom Takes Toddler To Prom As Her Date After She Couldn’t Find A Nanny

The title of bringing the world’s cutest date to prom has been given to Melissa McCabe. On her big night, the 16-Year-Old couldn’t find a babysitter for her 18 month-old-son named Arthur, so she decided to take him as her date. She shared a video before the event, and it indeed stole hearts on TikTok.

At 15, Melissa from Merseyside in the UK gave birth to Arthur and has since been raising him by herself.

According to Liverpool Echo, when she first found out she was pregnant, Melissa saw it as a challenge, especially as she was still at school but chose to raise her son without his father. “Everyone told me I was ruining my life, and I wasn’t going to get my GCSEs. So many people make comments when I’m out with him,” She explained.

Most often, people think Arthur is Melissa’s little brother, and just when she tells them, he’s hers, their attitude changes.

She added: “Older people especially find it disgusting because obviously, their way was to get married first and then have kids.” However, Melissa’s video was flooded with comments praising the teen mom for her parenting skills. An overlaid text on the video had read: “Everyone was going to prom with their boyfriends, but I took my biggest blessing.”

As seen in a series of adorable photos, Melissa rocked a blue ball gown, and little Arthur was seen in a tiny grey suit.

In the comments, one said: “OMG, you are the best mother the most gorgeous person I have ever had the pleasure to see.” Another gushed: “This is the cutest. He looks so proud in his little suit.” Melissa is no doubt breaking the stigma that surrounds teenage mothers. Her social media is where she documents her journey and often talks about the challenges of motherhood.

But above all, she speaks fondly of her son, whom she calls her best friend.

Interestingly, Melissa has now secured a place to study Health and Social Care at college in September. She told Liverpool Echo: “My deputy head and my form tutor especially have been so supportive throughout it all. They are the people who’ve got me through the bad times being a mom.”
